Does part-time mean I get fewer holidays?

Starting a new part-time role (3 days a week) and wondering how annual leave works. Do I get a pro-rata version of the full-time allowance?

Yes — part-time workers have the same holiday entitlement as full-time workers on a pro-rata basis. If a full-timer gets 28 days (including bank holidays), you'd get 28 × 3/5 = 16.8 days. Your employer cannot give you a lower rate per hour worked than full-time colleagues — that would be unlawful under the Part-Time Workers Regulations 2000.

Also worth knowing: bank holidays can catch you out. If you never work Mondays, you could theoretically 'miss' bank holidays disproportionately. Your employer should adjust your entitlement or give you alternative days off to compensate.
